Update 31.03

Dear Families,

I hope you are all keeping well. I have loved seeing the work that has been uploaded onto Tapestry. Thank you so much to those that have managed this. You do not have to upload everything that you do but it is fantastic to see the work that children are doing at home, as well as the fun they are having!

It is also great to hear that you are coming towards the end of the work we hurriedly put together and sent home two weeks ago. We have been working hard to think about what to send home next and how to keep up our sense of community and communication.

Please remember that this Friday would have been to end of term and we think it is very important that everyone still gets a break from school work. We will not be setting school work for these 2 weeks. Perhaps you could focus on learning something new; cooking, a new game, a new language or something that would really help in the house like washing up/loading a dishwasher, helping in the garden/balcony, cleaning the bath or shower or helping with the washing.

Towards the end of this week we will be posting a work pack to you. This will contain some more English and Maths work to cover a couple of weeks after the Easter break. Please don’t start working on this until the week beginning 20th April as teachers are busy creating ‘teaching tips’ packs to support you with this. These will be posted on the website on 20th April. Alongside the English and Maths work, your children would have started a new cornerstones topic next half term. So that children can start some of this at home, teachers have created a sheet of tasks that can be done. This, the knowledge organiser and other relevant documents will be uploaded onto the website by Monday 20th April.

Please note that parents evenings have been postponed.

We truly appreciate how hard this is for everyone and know that you are all doing the best you possibly can! Please look back at my message on 23rd March if you are worried about what you are doing. We really want you all to stay well and as happy as you can!

If you require any support with home learning, please contact your child’s class teacher via email in the first instance.

If you require and support with food or any other emotional need, please email me on

Stay safe and I can’t wait to see you all soon,

Mrs Horwood
