CHESTNUTS PRIMARY SCHOOL

Latest update 01.01.2021

Dear Families,

You may or may not have seen the news this evening that the governement have completed a u-turn and have now added Haringey to their list of LA's where primary schools should switch to the contingency planning framework.

I am meeting with our SLT tomorrow to put together the final details and to plan for Keyworker/vulnerable provision. Please look out for an email on Monday outlining the details of our remote learning expectations. (our remote learning strategy can be found here)

As a matter of urgency we need to know the number of places required for keyworkers from Tuesday 5th January.

The government has recently updated its guidance with regard to eligibility within its document 'Critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings':

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

The school will also consider applications from parents where childcare is absolutely necessary.

Given the very high rates of transmission in our area, we do however ask that if you are a two parent family and one of you is not a critical worker and available to look after your children, you keep them at home and participate in the school's remote learning programme.

The critical worker provision will be available during normal school hours, however some extended provision will be available where absolutely necessary, for example extended hospital shifts.

If you think you are eligible to use this provision and would like to apply, please complete the following google form KEYWORKER PROVISION FORM

With best wishes

Mrs Horwood
