First week news

Dear Families,

What a strange first week back. Thank you all so much for your support with our first week of remote learning. I know there have been teething issues but I am so proud of how everyone has adapted to being online. A big thank you to all the staff as well for making sure the children in school are safe and learning and that the children at home are provided with excellent resources to teach them. All of this whilst delivering laptops to families and providing some with data packages.

I know that home learning is extremely difficult for all of you. There is a reason that children come to school and learn in person! We can see that every single family and each child is doing the very best they can and the staff are working really hard to support you. Our provision will evolve over the period and attached to this newsletter are some FAQ’s for you to have the answers to. Please also find information on our remote learning strategy here. From next week most lessons will have a video with explicit teaching for every lesson. We hope this will help navigate the lessons better.

Please continue to ensure that your children attend the morning meeting, to gain a register mark and find out about the day, and if possible to afternoon meeting to hear a story, catch up with their peers and end the school day.

Here is a short video (thanks to Ms Newton) with a quick explanation of how to navigate google classroom. We will be producing more early next week. VIDEO

Any questions you may have please direct them to your child’s class teacher, myself, Ms Newton or Ms West.

Wishing you all well and stay safe,

Mrs Horwood
