Imagine you are a black person living in South Africa during Apartheid

Dear Diary,

Today has been the worst day - a new law has been passed stating that marriages between people of different races are banned! How can the government do this! What if when I’m older I want to marry a white man? I’m so angry and know we are all in a small place together and we don’t have nearly as much space, we live in shelters - where has my house gone! If I want to go out I have to carry my identity card and if I don’t they might arrest me or shoot me. All of this is so unfair - what have I done? I’m being treated like a criminal! What shall I do?
