A surprise visit!! By Nancy Parrott

Date: 20th Oct 2017 @ 2:32pm

On the 18th of October, our school recieved a lovely visit from the Metropolitan police. One of the officers talked to us about the equipment that they use on a daily basis, such as: handcuffs (which are used to restrain criminals), as well as a pepper spray replica  (used to temporarily blind people) and so on.

Thereafter, we were allowed to go inside the Police van, where they explained that only the windscreen was made of glass, and all of the other windows for made of a hard plastic so as to protect the inhabitants of the vehicle.

Finally, we were moved into the hall where another set of police officers talked to us about the history of uniform and why each garment and accesory was so valid for their job. Overall, it was a great, very informative session which we enjoyed very much.
